Journal of Agricultural Policy & Transformation

Advancing Evidence-Based Policies for Sustainable and Inclusive Agricultural Transformation
AgriPaT – Journal of Agricultural Policy & Transformation is an international, peer-reviewed platform dedicated to advancing scholarship at the intersections of agricultural policy, socio-economic development, environmental sustainability, and technological innovation. The journal places special emphasis on research that promotes inclusive and equitable transformation across a wide variety of geographical, institutional, and cultural contexts.
AgriPaT seeks to bridge global perspectives with local realities. By engaging with both developed and developing regions, the journal fosters a cross-context dialogue that is academically rigorous yet policy-relevant. We particularly welcome studies that not only advance theoretical understanding but also provide actionable insights for shaping resilient, sustainable, and future-ready agricultural systems. Research should aim to inform decision-making processes, address systemic challenges, and contribute to building agri-food systems that are economically viable, environmentally sound, and socially just.
The journal operates with a global scope and adheres to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process, ensuring the highest standards of academic integrity and methodological soundness. We encourage multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary, and transdisciplinary contributions that integrate perspectives from economics, political science, sociology, environmental sciences, geography, law, and technological innovation studies, among others.
AgriPaT publishes the following peer-reviewed article types:
Research Articles: Full-length original studies that apply robust methodologies and high-quality data to address significant questions in agricultural policy and transformation. These papers should contribute substantively to the academic literature while offering insights for policy and practice.
Review Articles: Systematic and analytical syntheses of existing international literature. Reviews should provide comprehensive, critical evaluations of a clearly defined topic, identify knowledge gaps, and outline directions for future research.
Special Issues: Thematic collections of articles arising from scientific collaborations, workshops, or conferences. These issues focus on emerging or high-priority topics in agricultural policy and transformation. Potential Guest Editors are invited to submit a proposal (1–3 pages) outlining the theme, scope, and potential contributions to the editorial office.
Commentaries: Concise, peer-reviewed contributions offering critical discussion on contemporary debates, research trends, or policy developments relevant to agricultural transformation. This category also includes reflections on previously published work, perspectives on urgent challenges, and science-policy interface discussions.
By accommodating a range of scholarly formats, AgriPaT provides an inclusive space for both in-depth empirical research and timely, targeted contributions. Through its broad disciplinary reach, the journal serves as a meeting point for researchers, policymakers, and practitioners committed to transforming agricultural systems in ways that are economically efficient, socially inclusive, and environmentally resilient.
Ultimately, AgriPaT aims to catalyze an evidence-based dialogue that strengthens the global exchange of ideas, fosters innovation, and supports the development of agricultural policies and practices that can withstand future challenges. The journal is committed to publishing work that not only enriches academic discourse but also contributes tangibly to the design and implementation of transformative solutions for agriculture and rural development worldwide.
