2nd International Emerging Scholars Forum

August 24-26, 2026 -- UAF, Pakistan

Scope of IESF-2026
The 2nd International Emerging Scholars Forum (IESF-2026) builds upon the success of its inaugural edition by advancing critical dialogue on resilient, inclusive, and sustainable agri-food systems in an increasingly uncertain global environment. The forum is designed to showcase cutting-edge research by emerging scholars while fostering interdisciplinary exchange across economics, policy, technology, and development practice.
At its core, IESF-2026 examines how economic frameworks and policy instruments can strengthen climate resilience in agriculture. Key areas include the adoption and impact evaluation of climate-smart agriculture, resource optimization within the water–energy–food nexus, carbon markets, green innovation, and the valuation of ecosystem services. Emerging environmental challenges such as pollution, resource degradation, and climate-induced risks are also critically explored.
The forum further addresses structural transformation of agri-food systems under evolving market dynamics and policy regimes. Discussions will cover value chain resilience, digital agriculture platforms, trade and market integration, and the implications of global economic shifts for food security, nutrition, and rural livelihoods. Special attention is given to behavioral dimensions influencing production, consumption, and policy outcomes.
Technological innovation remains a central pillar of IESF-2026. The forum highlights the role of artificial intelligence, remote sensing, big data analytics, and blockchain technologies in enhancing agricultural productivity, transparency, and traceability. At the same time, it critically engages with issues of digital inequality, data governance, and ethical considerations, particularly in the context of smallholder inclusion.
A strong emphasis is placed on policy and institutional innovation, including land tenure systems, gender equity, labor mobility, governance reforms, and public policy design. The forum encourages critical reflection on development paradigms, with particular attention to Global South perspectives, indigenous knowledge systems, and community-led adaptation strategies.
IESF-2026 also promotes methodological innovation and interdisciplinary research, featuring contributions that employ advanced quantitative techniques, experimental and behavioral approaches, life-cycle assessments, and mixed-method frameworks integrating economic, social, and ecological dimensions.
By bringing together diverse scholarly voices and policy-relevant research, IESF-2026 aims to inform actionable strategies, strengthen research–policy linkages, and contribute to transformative pathways for sustainable agri-food systems, particularly in developing and climate-vulnerable regions.
