International Conference on

“Economic Pathways for Climate-Smart and Sustainable Agriculture” – (ECPCSSA-2026) Tunisia

Scope of the Conference
In response to the mounting challenges posed by climate change, the global agricultural sector stands at a critical juncture. There is an urgent need to transition towards systems that are not only productive and economically viable but also resilient, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. The International Conference on “Economic Pathways for Climate-Smart and Sustainable Agriculture” (ECPCSSA-2026) seeks to explore how economic thinking and evidence-based policies can guide this transformation across diverse agro-ecological and socio-economic contexts.
With support from numerous international academic partners, the conference offers a dynamic, interdisciplinary platform for scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and shape new directions for sustainable agriculture in a climate-constrained world.
The conference invites original contributions that deepen our understanding of economic tools, models, and strategies supporting climate-resilient agriculture and sustainable rural development. A comprehensive set of sub-themes has been designed to structure the discussions:
Climate-Smart Investments and Resource Use Efficiency – Exploring sustainable strategies for optimizing land, water, and energy use through improved policy and economic efficiency.
Market Dynamics, Trade, and Value Chains under Climate Stress – Examining climate change impacts on agri-food markets, trade flows, price stability, and value chain resilience.
Risk, Insurance, and Finance for Resilient Farming – Discussing innovative financial tools, crop insurance, and risk-sharing mechanisms that support vulnerable farmers.
Behavioral Economics and Farmer Adaptation – Understanding decision-making under uncertainty, behavioral incentives, and adaptation to climate-smart practices.
Public Policy, Institutions, and Governance – Assessing institutional effectiveness, governance structures, and policy interventions that enhance adaptive capacity.
Food Security and Livelihoods – Focusing on inclusive development with particular attention to women, youth, and marginalized communities amid environmental change.
Digital Innovation and Agricultural Data – Highlighting the role of ICTs, big data, and spatial tools in driving informed, evidence-based agricultural policies.
Valuing Ecosystem Services and Natural Capital – Integrating environmental valuation tools such as PES and cost-benefit analysis to align economic growth with conservation.
ECPCSSA-2026 aims to spark a global dialogue at the intersection of economics, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture, bridging research, policy, and practice for a better future.
